Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai 15-18 (DVD) - IT'S OVER! (again)

For real this time, WinD is finally finished re-releasing Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai from DVD. There was a sudden spurt of motivation to get this last batch off our (mostly my) hard drives so here they are!
Frankly, I'm impressed we actually managed to finish this project that started back in 2007 (FOUR YEARS AGO). Many groups would have given up after this much time so props to the team for sticking with it to the very end.

So with that, WinD has finished its last major ongoing project and we really don't know what to do next, if anything. Maybe we'll sub some generic moeblob show...

Ontama! 1-5 (complete)

The WinD Senior Citizen Community and Old Folks Home brings you this touching story of a little girl's journey to find out about her real dad. The show is complete with friend making, some drama, time travel, and even a creepy capybara that drives a school bus! All in all a very good series for the time you'll spend watching it.
This was shown on nico video's anime channel about a year ago and nobody seemed to notice it. We thought, "Aha! Finally something we can do even though we're slow!" The project officially kicked off February 5th with an anticipated timeline of "PFFFT! Only 5 episodes? 10 minutes each?! HA! We'll pop this out in 2 weeks!"

We here at WinD have a concept of time not unlike popular software developer, Valve. They have [url="http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Valve_Time"]Valve Time[/url], we have WinD Time.

So, 6 months later we bring you all five episodes finally finished (that's approximately 87 hours of fansubbing per minute of video, by the way). I'm sure the other guys did it in a week or two like a properly motivated group, but oh well. We are what we are. The only raws available are from nico video so please excuse the awful upscale and jerkiness. We'll continue to look out for the DVD (unless someone wants to donate 80bux so we can buy it, loljapanprices). Extra thanks to Sae for doing the typesetting and TLCing for us so this wouldn't be delayed yet MORE months.

New Tracker for WinD Fansubs

Well, since some of you haven't heard yet, [url="http://a.scarywater.net"]scarywater[/url], which has served as our tracker since WinD's inception, is going down on 12 Mar 2010. Because we really want you to keep downloading our torrents, we have migrated all of our releases to [url="http://www.nyaatorrents.org"]nyaa's wonderful tracker[/url] which will most likely be around for quite a long time. The good thing about this is that nyaa doesn't care if the release is licensed in North America or not (like mxs - the owner of scarywater did). This means that if one of our releases becomes licensed, we won't be forced to remove it from the tracker.

Anyway, you can currently find our releases at:

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai 11 & 12 (DVD)

Yeah it seems now that the pressure is off, we've gone right back to being lazy and sl-- I mean careful and quality oriented. I haven't even ripped the DVD for the next couple episodes yet so I'm not going to make any promises about when you'll see 13 and 14 but I'll try not to take forever.
Roughy assures me that the typesetting for Hidamari Sketch x365 will be done "in the next few days" so maybe we can blow the dust off that project again.

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai 10 (DVD)

With Rei out of the way it's time to crack down on finishing the DVD releases of Kai!

An interesting note is that our original release read a lot like 'All your base' in a few scenes so those were corrected. Actually, they almost *weren't* corrected but we caught them moments before release so enjoy a slightly more grammatically correct script. And just in case you were wondering, pretty much all the scripts for the DVD releases have been changed slightly from the TV releases so if you noticed errors before, they should hopefully be gone now.
